…So here I sit atop the world…and one thing keeps pounding away in my brain.

This Season is fast waning, and I watch from my perch the entire world in general. What I see makes me pause and get somewhat philosophical during this time of year…

Questions pop into my head that have no answers…or if they DO have answers, they are not GOOD answers.

Questions like: “When did GREED replace NEED”? And “When did it become acceptable to give everyone what THEY want and not what they NEED”?…or “Why is it that people SEE what is wrong and do absolutely nothing about it”?

I seldom like to play “Remember when?”…but I watched this years “Black Friday” with complete and utter DISGUST.  I saw packs of rabid ADULTS fighting over worthless JUNK (yes, for that is what it TRULY is) EVEN IF THEY DID NOT NEED IT. Several of these ‘shoppers’ actually said “I didn’t need it, but I came anyway”…as if somehow fighting and scrabbling over some TV they DIDN’T need was MORE important than spending quality time with their family…?  I saw fights, people getting trampled..the BASEST form of humanity as an animal…no..wait…for that is an insult to animals…the BASEST form of mindless puppets scrabbling and clawing for JUNK.

I can remember in 1983 when “Black Friday” meant the WORST thing that would happen is you would not be able to find a parking spot at the mall..that somehow you would have to walk from the BACK of the mall to attend a discounted sale…and now they camp out DAYS in advance, park MILES away, and react like a bunch of heathen SAVAGES to get things of no REAL value (Don’t care WHAT the price tag says…if you have to punch someone in the face to get a flat screen tv then it IS of NO REAL value!)…where are the manners?  Where is the social inhibitor switch that says “no, this is wrong, I am sorry”? What happened to us? When did GREED replace NEED?

Wasn’t there a recession on just last year? Weren’t people crying and moaning about not having enough money or a job just to pay RENT? And yet it seems they have enough now, for they seem to be mindless ants fighting over whatever the media says is “the hot must have thing”….tragic, that….to have fallen so far from social graces as to do what THEY say instead of what is RIGHT. Me, personally, I would have saved the money, spent time with my family, and ENJOYED my weekend…but not the millions at discount stores…*sigh*…

When did “WANT” replace “NEED”? When did it become a CRIME to NOT give your children the latest gadget or game? I found out is is considered “Neglect” to NOT cater into their every whim…WHAT?!?!? WHAT THE BLAZES IS THAT ALL ABOUT!?!?!

When I was young if you wanted something you WORKED for it..chores…a part time job…paper route…raking leaves…cutting lawns..etc..

A parent could say “If you want it so badly go get a job and buy it yourself”. Now children actually SUE their parents if they do not get the gadget! And the court? The Courts say the parent “denied them their social rights” by not catering into their greedy, lazy, demanding selves…and the parents BY LAW had to get it for them..?!?!? WHAT!?!?!?

Remember when if you were in a store and a child was throwing a temper tantrum other parents would look disapprovingly on at the CHILD and say “needs a good smack on the bottom, that one”? Now they look at the PARENTS and shake their heads IN PITY because the parents CANNOT give their child a whack on the tush for being rude, or acting out.

When did it become acceptable? WHEN did the rights of the CHILD replace the rights of the PARENT? When did THAT come around? I remember (all too vividly) my mom giving me a smack ON THE MOUTH when I said a bad word…now kids SWEAR at their parents (yes, even the SMALL ones!) and parents cannot do a THING to them!

When did it become RIGHT to walk by someone collapsed on the ground unconscious and just keep walking? When did it become a CRIME to FEED THE HUNGRY? When did the POLITICIAN’S will replace THE PEOPLE’S?

When did we lose so much of ourselves that we can see others suffer and die and do NOTHING?

WHEN did it become “The will of God” to kill people who HELP OTHERS?

Am I the only one who sees this? Am I the only one who wants to say “STOP THIS MADNESS RIGHT NOW”???

It has become ILLEGAL to speak out against injustice! WHAT THE..?!?!?

A person can now sue someone over having a Christmas tree up in their window?

Holding open a door for a woman is considered ‘sexual discrimination’???

Saying “Merry Christmas” is an ACTIONABLE offense???

It is at times like this I just want to move into a cave somewhere in a remote unpopulated area of the world and let humanity eat itself alive.

Morals have been replaced by money…justice has been replaced by apathy…laws cater to the sinner and not the sinned…hatred has replaced heart…

Everyone says “we should have the right to our belief”…and I AGREE…but then they turn around and force US to change OUR beliefs in order to cater to THEIRS.

I heard that in one state in America they are lobbying to have all the crosses removed from churches because “they offend” a group…

Here’s what I THINK…if it DOES offend you, then perhaps YOU need to strengthen YOUR faith.

Let me give you an example of what I mean….

I was TOLD by someone the other day in a GROCERY STORE to remove my cross because it ‘offended’ them. I said ‘no’ and they got the store manager and security in on it and actually called the police on me! (because this woman and her friend were creating quite a loud stir about this issue)

The police, when they arrived,  looked HIGHLY uncomfortable about this debacle when the woman SCREAMED at them her anger at ME not complying with HER demands. I explained that I would ONLY remove MY symbol of faith if THEY removed THEIRS (the woman was wearing a head scarf, and I will NOT assume to pin which faith she belonged to without knowing!)…she got OUTRAGED at the suggestion that SHE have to meet me half way!

She shouted and screamed how offended she was…how she would sue…how she would get these civil rights groups onto the police and me…the poor police actually said “come on, please remove your cross…what harm is it?” TO ME.

I cannot tell you how the situation changed the moment I said “But officer, I cannot remove my badge of office”…the police person looked confused until I showed them my clerical identity card…oh boy, HOW THE MOOD CHANGED..they explained to the woman that I was a cleric, and that I had every RIGHT to wear my cross in public view…..the woman screamed LOUDER at the police when they told her they CAN’T make me take it off.

(End result: they said if she wanted me to remove mine, she would have to remove HER’S….she stormed out, and I am still waiting for the call from these ‘groups’ and to be sued for not complying with HER wishes)

See, this is what I mean..we are so consumed by wanting everyone ELSE to change to suit US that WE are not willing to change to meet them half way…

This time of year everyone is up in arms about religious rights…what about OUR right to celebrate OUR faith? If you want US to recognize and show respect to YOUR faith and belief system on YOUR holy days, then DO AS SUCH WITH OURS…I am not forcing Christmas down ANYONE’S throat…if you don’t want to celebrate it, THAT IS FINE…just don’t try to force ME to NOT celebrate it as well!

We have lost our collective minds as a people!

It used to be if someone was another faith, you would smile, ask a polite question or two about their faith, then shake their hand and walk away…now we stand shouting at each other as if THEIR faith is wrong…?!?!?

I have simply lost the plot in this world, it seems. I simply do not understand it anymore.

So, during this season TRY to be understanding of those who do not see your side…open YOUR heart and mind and meet them halfway IF THEY WILL DO SO TOO!…if not…smile, shake their hand, wish them a good day..AND WALK AWAY…

I wish EVERYONE the peace of the season, WHATEVER your faith is…and can we ALL just try and keep our respective minds ON OUR OWN instead of forcing others to comply?

“At that time: Jesus walked by the Sea of Galilee, went up on the mountain, and sat down there.

Great crowds came to him, having with them the lame, the blind, the deformed, the mute, and many others.

They placed them at his feet, and he cured them.

The crowds were amazed when they saw the mute speaking, the deformed made whole, the lame walking, and the blind able to see, and they glorified the God of Israel.

Jesus summoned his disciples and said, “My heart is moved with pity for the crowd, for they have been with me now for three days and have nothing to eat. I do not want to send them away hungry, for fear they may collapse on the way.”

The disciples said to him, “Where could we ever get enough bread in this deserted place to satisfy such a crowd?”

Jesus said to them, “How many loaves do you have?”

“Seven,” they replied, “and a few fish.”

He ordered the crowd to sit down on the ground.

Then he took the seven loaves and the fish, gave thanks, broke the loaves, and gave them to the disciples, who in turn gave them to the crowds.

They all ate and were satisfied.

They picked up the fragments left over–seven baskets full.” -Matthew 15:29-37.
