…..CLEARING THINGS UP A BIT…..

rainbow_bridge_2

I get tired of hearing “Your preaching HERESY”…or “Your perverting the Word of God”….and my other favorite: “Your a SINNER, teaching a belief that animals go to Heaven”

I thought I would take time to EXPLAIN WHY I FIRMLY BELIEVE my “teaching” is NOT Heresy…everyone ready??? Ok…here we go….

So…EVERYONE knows that EVERYTHING was created by God….Genesis Chapter 1 pretty much has that covered…

The question that keeps getting asked of me is “Friar Jeff, do pets REALLY go to heaven??”

Now, I have blogged, written, expounded, and spoken about this subject now for almost 6 years….so, I will “refine” my sermon to include a “loophole” previously unnoticed by sceptics….ready??

We all know (according to both Bl. John Paul, AND Pope Benedict XVI) that ALL animals have a SOUL….

Pope John Paul II stated in 1990 that “the animals possess a soul and men must love and feel solidarity with our smaller brethren.” He went on to say that all animals are “fruit of the creative action of the Holy Spirit and merit respect” and that they are “as near to God as men are.”

The Holy Father reminded people that all living beings, including animals, came into being because of the “breath” of God.

Animals possess the divine spark of life – the living quality that is the soul.

John Paul II quoting from several verses of Genesis spoke of the Divine creative action of the Holy Spirit and said: “…in the account of the Creation, the way in which man was created suggests a relationship with the spirit or ‘breath’ of God.

And one reads that after having created man from the dust of the earth, the Lord God “breathed life into his nostrils and man became a living soul”.

The Holy Scriptures thereby make clear that God intervened by means of His breath of life or Spirit to make man a living soul.

In man there is the “breath of life” which came from the “breath” of God Himself.

In him lives breath which is similar to the very breath of God.

In this respect man, created by the hand of God, is identical with all other living creatures.

In Ecclesiastes 3:18-21 it is FURTHER confirmed….

“I also said to myself, “As for humans, God tests them so that they may see that they are like the animals.

Surely the fate of human beings is like that of the animals; the same fate awaits them both: As one dies, so dies the other.

All have the same breath ; humans have no advantage over animals. Everything is meaningless.

All go to the same place; all come from dust, and to dust all return.

Who knows if the human spirit rises upward and if the spirit of the animal goes down into the earth?”

….so….sceptics may STILL argue that this “only applies to humans”….that only HUMANS have a soul and enter heaven….true…Animals CANNOT ENTER THE MANSIONS OF GOD….

“But Friar Jeff” you say “isn’t that the OPPOSITE of what your preaching?!?!?”

Well, let me clarify a little more, and try to keep up..ok??

HEAVEN is not so much a SINGULAR place as a REALITY… Jesus stated that “My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you?”
-John 14:2

So, by this LOGICAL conclusion we know that there are MANY places in Heaven….yes? The place I “preach” or “teach” is not within the HALLS of Heaven, but still IN Heaven…the “forever green fields” of Heaven’s realm…the “Across the Rainbow Bridge” section….

They are TECHNICALLY NOT IN ‘Heaven’, (as some see Heaven as simply God’s Mansion or House or Temple) but rather, still INSIDE THE REALM OF HEAVEN.

So, LOGICALLY you have to concede that Heaven is ENORMOUS and has MANY PLACES…with me so far?

Some will say “Well, I do not believe that exists” or “My Church does not believe that exists”…

By a simple statement I will win your minds over….yep…by ONE SIMPLE STATEMENT I WILL CHANGE YOUR MIND….

The key to seeing this lay simply in THREE SMALL VERSES within the Scriptures…

Ready???

This may shock you…

Oh..quick note: If you feel a cold chill run down your spine, do not worry….it simply means you know I am RIGHT in this…and that my “Ministry” IS teaching ‘properly’ to His people….so…get ready to have your Doxology IRREFUTABLY CHANGED FOREVER…..

“Truly I tell you, whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.” -Matthew 18:18

‘But’, you say, ‘that ONLY applies to HUMANS…’

I beg to differ…where does it say THAT in the Bible?? That it ONLY applies to HUMANS…?

The KEY to what I am trying to explain lay in THE VERY NEXT VERSE….

This is something you may have overlooked in your narrow field of vision….

“Again, truly I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything they ask for, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven.

For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them.” -Matthew 18:19-20

*IF TWO OF YOU ON EARTH AGREE ABOUT ANYTHING THEY ASK FOR, IT WILL BE DONE FOR THEM BY MY FATHER IN HEAVEN…..*

RIGHT THERE….THERE is the very verse….

Even if you discounted the several MILLION people who DO believe in the fact Companions go to Heaven, in a place labelled “The Rainbow Bridge”…You can (weakly I might add) argue that THAT only applies to His Disciples….

Well…sure..but by APOSTOLIC SUCCESSION I am ONE OF HIS DISCIPLES..and as we have already established that POPE JOHN PAUL II agrees, that makes TWO….which AGAIN verifies His Truth….

I am not the ONLY ONE…not the ONLY CLERIC who believes this…there are HUNDREDS….HUNDREDS who speak of Animals in Heaven, HUNDREDS who succor the soul of a person who has lost their companion…

(and yet, they seem focus on ME when trolling…weird that… 😀 )

So..I hope this clears things up a bit….maybe creates some new questions in your mind…

This is the difference between people who read the Bible…and people who READ the Bible….

If you READ His words, you UNDERSTAND His words…not merely remember a quote, spout it off, or use it to fling your Doxology and Doctrine around….

I wish you Peace….(I have a feeling you are going to need it)….

In the meantime, instead of spending your time preaching against what you HATE….try preaching about something you LOVE…maybe THEN you will understand that God is not intolerant of those who seek His face through the eyes of their non-human companions….after all…HE CREATED THEM TO BE LOVED….

Peace be with you….

READING OF THE DAY: 04 MAY, 2013

“If the world hates you, realize that it hated me first.

If you belonged to the world, the world would love its own; but because you do not belong to the world, and I have chosen you out of the world, the world hates you.

Remember the word I spoke to you, ‘No slave is greater than his master.’

If they persecuted me, they will also persecute you.

If they kept my word, they will also keep yours.

And they will do all these things to you on account of my name, because they do not know the one who sent me.” -John 15:18-21.

SAINT OF THE DAY: 04 MAY, 2013

Saint Monica
Widow
(332-388)

Saint Monica, the mother of Saint Augustine, was born in 332 of a Christian family of the ancient city of Tagasta in northern Africa. After a girlhood of singular innocence and piety, she was given in marriage to Patricius, a pagan.

She at once devoted herself to his conversion, praying for him always and winning his reverence and love by the holiness of her life and her affectionate forbearance.

She was rewarded by seeing him baptized a year before his death.

When her son Augustine went astray in faith and habits, her prayers and tears were incessant. She once begged a learned bishop that he would talk to her son, in order to bring him to a better disposition, but he declined, despairing of success with a young man at once so gifted and so headstrong.

At the sight of her prayers and tears, he nonetheless bade her be of good courage, for it could not happen that the child of those tears should perish.

Augustine, by going to Italy, was able for a time to free himself from his mother’s importunities, but he could not escape from her prayers, which encompassed him like the providence of God.

She followed him to Italy; and there, by his marvelous conversion, her sorrow was turned into joy.

At Ostia, shortly before they were to re-embark for Africa, Augustine and his mother sat at a window conversing on the life of the blessed.

She turned to him and said, My son, there is nothing now I care for in this life. What I shall now do, or why I remain on this earth, I know not. The one reason I had for wishing to linger in this life a little longer was that I might see you a Catholic Christian before I died. This grace God has granted me superabundantly, seeing you reject earthly happiness to become His servant.

A few days afterwards she had an attack of fever and died at the age of fifty-six, in the year 388.
